Out goes the Costco Mobil-1 full synthetic and Motorcraft filter and In goes the Walmart Quaker State full synthetic and Motorcraft filter after 5,000 miles since January. But I couldnt find my funnel, So I made one.

Kinja'd!!!

Yes, I cut open a water bottle

Now all I have to do is watch a quart of it leak out over the next 3,000 miles, then add another quart for the last 2,000 miles of the change interval. Man, I cant wait until I get that 5.0 HO in there so I can have a non leaky engine

Has it always been synthetic? If not I know why it’s leaking.

I converted it a while ago, but the timing cover, valve covers and oil filter housing has been leaking for longer.

The individual quart bottles of Quaker State are really easy to pour, so you don’t need a funnel. Napa’s house brand oil bottles have a long neck, too.

Well, it turns out it was a myth.

I’m not a chemist but conventional oil has larger particles or something and it builds up on gaskets and stuff and when you switch to the more refined particles of synthetic it clears the build up and makes things leak.

I don’t know. It makes sense, but it’s not really true.

Yeah but getting the 5 quart jug makes disposal a lot easier cause you can just pour the old oil in when you’re done

How much are you paying for a 5 qt jug? Around here, Walmart and Meijer want $30-35. I got Mobil 1 High Mileage for $25 from Amazon when I did my last change.
